My Jam Session with Micah Creel...

Thursday, October 29, 2009 5:22 PM

On Sunday, I wrote a post about former Edgewater guitarist, Micah Creel, and his new solo project, The Commotion (whose instrumental track is also on my homepage).  This past Tuesday night, I got the opportunity to go over to his apartment and jam with him in his recording studio.  I've been a drummer for over a decade, and I think it's one of every musician's dreams to be able to jam out with someone they look up to.  That dream came true for me when I got to rock out with Micah who is one of my music heroes.   I really appreciate him for doing that, and I'll never forget it.

One of my favorite things to do when playing with other musicians is to just start playing, and feed off each other back-and-forth to see what we come up with.  Micah and I did just that, and he recorded one of the improvised jam sessions from that night. He was also nice enough to let me post it!  Keep in mind, it was completely improvised.  Take a listen and feel free to leave a comment...

Truly impressive buddy. Although in no way surprising haha...I feel so fortunate to have been able to play with you for so long and am pumped to see you being able to live the dream like this. Well done, sir.

Though I seem to be unable to listen to it, I'm sure it was magical. Your talents are only exceeded by your innate caring nature.
